"Bennik shipyard." Holland.

Forgot my tripod, so I had to find a alternative for my pochade,
that narrowed the places where I could paint from A LOT!!

Anyway somehow its good to find yourself a bit lost sometime,
for example this is painted with almost a flat palette, I mean
literally the palette was tightened flat on a surface and that's a bit
different then what I use to.

"Bennik scheepswerf." Westervoort, Holland.
(Bennik shipyard.) Oil on board.

Fridaymorning in Zevenaar. Holland.

This was done right on the doorstep of a art-supply and art-trader.
I started with a loud yell "Ik ga ff wat reclame maken!!"
(I just gonna make some advertising!!) and set up my gear.

That work very well, he and a lot of other people (customers)
had to have a peek what I was up to, yeah yeah it does harm your
work I know, but it was great fun!!

Marine fleet show, Holland.

There was a marine fleet show today on the Rhine.
It started more or less where the Rhine runs into Holland to
Arnhem and back again. During one direction the boats traveled
very fast, but luckily the other way they weren't that fast.
the boats where participate in a show of old time inland barges
form 1900 till now, ... A hell of a day, because every boat took
about 2 maybe 3 minutes to pass by Most of the drawings
are done with a match stick and Indian ink. Here a selection of
the drawings, ... there a way too much to show them all.

And exhausting but very rewarding day!!

Thanks for watching!

"Drilling into the Hondsbroeksche pley." Holland.

Drilling into the Hondsbroeksche pley.
They are rebuilding the whole area where I painted
often here in the Hondsbroeksche pley. All because
the effects of global warming, they reckon that the
Rhine and IJssel will bring more water in a shorter time-space
so to give the rivers more space they don't have to make the
dikes any higher, ....

Aah all in time this will be a lovely new build up nature, so
as every nature area here in Holland.

"Boren in de Hondsbroeksche pley." Westervoort, Holland.
(Drilling into the Hondsbroeksche pley.) Oil on board.

It started with some rain, ... when I saw this
scene, the entrance from the trees the soft light on the
house. (which was a rather ugly building though) Made me feel
like hot chocolate (It started with a kiss) But soon after I
started the sun broke through and I had to save what was left
from that molten chocolate, ..... :-S

"Ce n'est pas un tableau." Holland.

Ce n'est pas un tableau, ...it's war.

Clouds rushing ahead wind is blowing fast and furious, light
is running through the landscape and I, I try to capture some of it.

It's a big time struggle, but what a time!!

"The two boys." Holland.

Being a bit busy with all kinds of stuff after those days off
I place one of the painting I made during those days.

This was made in the evening, and the two boys on the bikes
where asking all kinds of silly questions. When I told them
that it would be likely that they would be painted when they
biked up and down that little road, it was a moment very quiet
and then off they went, ... for a time. Then they asked if they
where painted as well, ... they where :-)
