"Always ahead." Westervoort, Holland.

I discovered that shipyard Bennik dragged a new ship out of
the river, ... had to check that!

It was the ferry "Steeds voorwaarts"
that holds service between Dieren and Oldburgen.

Amazing how large a vessel looks when it is out of the water!

24 x 30 cm.

To compare it with a picture when she's lying in it.

What an interesting subject. It actually looks more like a boat now it's out of the water. In the photograph it just seems to be floating on the surface.

'Always Forwards' is a good name for a ferry with no bow and no stern. Dutch sense of humour? Good painting of an interesting subject. Thanks.
