"Lonely world." Doetinchem, Holland.

For quite some time now I thought this side of Holland (Achterhoek)
("Back corner" roughly translated) looks in some parts a bit like
Hertford, the place where my all time favorite artist,

Trevor Chamberlain

lives and works. Today I am sure of it, when I came across this
little scene, I'll guess many of you will recognize the two paintings
I'm referring too.

Be stable. Westervoort, Holland.

Painted this one yesterday, and while driving back home
I came to think that the owner of this little apiary who passed
away last year cuased by muscular dystrophy called this apiary
"bijenstal" While translating this roughly you get Bee stable or be stable.
Would he ever known how much this was pointing to himself?

Anyway it's a great little lovely corner of a field.

The snow was melting while I painted it though.

Visited today my old friend Terry, (named after Karl Terry) because I still think every plein air artist should have their own Karl Terry tree.

They cut the corn which was standing on the field where I am painting from now, An awesome tree I reckon it's been there long enough to tell me some stories if it could.

Wednesday, sheepday!

Wednesday sheep-day, ... nééh not really.

Sheep are hard to paint, if those ladies have a slight hunch
they are going to be painted they run off as fast they can.
Siebe, the shepherd didn't help a lot although he yelled his lungs out.
He thought the sheep didn't know what he was yelling about because
the grass was all over the place. In any case it's going to take a whole
lot longer to practice before I can paint those funny critters.
